Meet the Founder - Ian Smith
After years working across property, people development, and leadership roles in fast-paced industries, I started House of Hilbre to bring something different to estate agency, something more human.
I’ve always believed that moving home shouldn’t be overwhelming or full of guesswork. With a background in property development, recruitment, and organisational growth, I’ve seen first-hand how the right support at the right time can make all the difference.
Because moving home isn't just about bricks and paperwork, it's about people, families, and futures.
House of Hilbre reflects that: honest advice, real care, and clear steps from start to finish. Whether it’s finding a buyer, navigating legal bumps, or just knowing what happens next, we’re here to make things smoother, faster, and a bit more enjoyable.

The name itself is a nod to Hilbre Island, one of my favourite places. Like the island, we aim to offer calm, clarity, and solid ground, even when everything around you is shifting.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me on the golf course, out sailing, cooking something ambitious, or nose-deep in a good book.
